The Key to Mental Well-being

Mind Fitness encourages the conscious use of our mind and spirit to heal negative thinking and replace it with more positive, creative, and enjoyable ways of relating to ourselves, one another, and our world. This is no add-on or extra; a regular mental health practice is integral to our ability to function successfully in our world.
Time-Out Sessions for Yourself
Time out provides a time for disconnecting. It is a few minutes to relax with awareness of our stressed-out, overworked minds, integrating and balancing them with our bodies, bringing both to a place of receptivity. We aren’t going to sleep here! We are awake and mindful of our present moments. It is a time conducive to listening to our intuitive natures and understanding subtle points within the whole. A balanced mental state leads us in the right direction.
Just as saying a prayer helps us imagine positive images, by saying affirming words, we pump directive thoughts precisely to move ourselves in the direction we want. We create a personalized program of daily mental focus and exercise. One month, the focus may be on a health need; another month may be a professional or personal direction or a desired personality trait.
This quiet inner time is only part of the program. The Mind Fitness orientation involves a constant awareness that we are consciously growing and changing ourselves from within and altering our perceptions to live more creatively, contribute more to others, and learn to enjoy life more fully. We accept that we are evolving and need not be so afraid of changing our attitudes and actions as we learn more about ourselves and our world and how to care for both.
Reflections
Take three to five deep breaths, inhaling through the nose and exhaling slowly through the mouth.
Experience taking a few moments of Time Out for yourself. No pressure, just a moment of quiet.
How does that feel to you?
